Team members work in isolation, roles are premature.

Solution

Get a validated understanding of the team's purpose, through speaking with customers.

Validate the team's purpose

Until now, the team has worked mostly in isolation.

It’s time to confirm assumptions or adjust direction.

We started Stage 1 - FOUNDATION with a Team Purpose Workshop —where we drafted an initial purpose statement for the team.

Take that purpose statement — the one-liner from the workshop: Why does this team exist?

Then review everything in your 🔵 Can & Will Do circle:

Agility framework for building agile enterprise team, without a scrum master or agile coach in or outside SAFe.

This is your team’s core focus. Clean it up, organize it, and clarify it.

Identify who you believe your customer is. Then ask:

We believe this is why our team exists — does that match your needs?

You’ll either get:

  • Confirmation — or

  • New insights that might shift your direction.

(“Wait, we thought you were building an AI bookkeeper, not an online pet store?”)

Pro tip: If new needs emerge, add them to the Roles & Responsibilities builder.

(“You want to be involved in UX design? Great — Mike owns that.”)

Agility framework for building agile enterprise team, without a scrum master or agile coach in or outside SAFe.

This is the shift:

A purpose set internally and validated externally becomes a powerful driver.

It creates clarity, motivation, and unites the team around solving real problems — fueling collaboration

There is a valid reason for taking to customers.

They tell you what they want.
