Blocker

Delivery output is low in both quality and quantity.

Solution

Request that comes from customers needs to be refined into smaller, more manageable deliverables.

Fast Breakdown Funnel

When requests come in from customers, the team needs a quick, lightweight way to decide what to do with them.

The Fast Breakdown Funnel helps you filter and size requests fast.

(full guide linked below)

Agility framework for building agile enterprise team, without a scrum master or agile coach in or outside SAFe.

How it works:

A request comes in from a customer.

The team then runs it through six quick steps to refine it:

  1. Clarity – Define the problem, who has it, and confirm it’s buildable, testable, and can be iterated on.

  2. Size – Classify as Epic (big), Feature (medium), Story or Enabler (small).

  3. Value – Identify if it drives revenue, saves cost, reduces risk, or enables future value.

  4. Slice – Find the smallest testable version that solves a real problem.

  5. Effort – Estimate the build size (XS to L).

  6. Priority – Decide urgency (from “Yesterday” to “Next Year”).

Bottom line:

Think of the funnel like a floodgate:

  • More filters = higher quality, less noise.

  • Fewer filters = faster flow, lower quality.

Adjust how “tight” the funnel is based on how much you trust your intake.

Better inflow of work.

Better outflow of value.
